Janssen technology is the only no-dig remedy addressing the underlying cause of lateral connection failures: inadequate bedding and structural support. The Janssen system rebuilds proper bedding around the connection to permanently eliminate operational problems such as broken pipe, root intrusion or groundwater infiltration.

The lateral is reattached to the main in a seamless two step process. After the lateral is prepared by the Janssen cutting robot, resins are injected into the soils and voids around the lateral. After a short curing time (approximately 20 - 30 minutes) the lateral is firmly reattached to the main surrounded by a solid mass of resin and resin-soil bedding. The new bedding establishes spring line support for the lateral, which is important for withstanding hydrostatic lifting and movement. The injected resins bond with piping surfaces to completely seal the connection.

The entire process is completed in just a few hours and requires no line plugging or digging of any kind.
