Description:
This project was a unique performance-based design-build contract to remove I/I from a
20,000-acre sewer basin in Nashville. This 5 year, $7.5 million contract is the
first of its kind, whereby the Reynolds' team guaranteed 20 percent I/I removal with an
additional monetary bonus if 30 percent removal is achieved. The project included:
|
- Analysis of flow and existing investigative data
- Establishment of base flows to the system
- Engineering and prioritization of rehabilitation efforts
- Preparation of rehabilitation plans based on existing data
- Work plan, including conducting wet weather monitoring, inspection and construction
- Field investigations (smoke testing, CCTV, manhole inspections, etc.) of the existing
system
- Efficient tracking of the investigations and completed work through creation of a
comprehensive database system
- Selection of most efficient and cost-effective rehabilitation activities (all per
Nashville specifications), including sewer relining, service lateral renewals and manhole
renewal with a variety of methods
|
|
With more than 90,000 feet of CIPP installed, combined with 800 service lateral renewals and
miscellaneous manhole rehabilitation, total I/I reduction was 41 percent, greatly exceeding
the 20 and 30 percent goals.
